A quick splatter painting with cherry juice on raw canvas. I added gold powder afterwards. These puppies are sweet!

iFun
It's been a while since I was posting regularly. Moving, job interviews, and getting used to a new life takes a lot of time. But I took a ton of photos in the interim time. Get ready for some iFun!
- A quadruple selfie right after I hung my paintings...
- A beautiful mix of reds, oranges, and greens when making a salad
- A snapchat piece of art
- Smokey and cloudy sunset
- The brick backyard in our Brooklyn apartment
- Me and Blaire the Fort Greene Flea
- A broken chandelier
- The patio at Lola BKLYN (a fantastic restaurant in BK)
- My lovely friend Theresa at her 22nd birthday
- Blaire and Bridge matching the Greene
- Lovely skies in BK (haha I spent a lot of time in Brooklyn recently)
- The best three at the Flea
- My first view of Arizona from the plane (I want to paint these!)
- A jackalope making our apartment SO BK

Still Life in Watercolor
A few weekends ago I hosted a still life program at my residence hall with a few friends. It was so lovely buying the flowers and produce-- I had a hard time keeping on track because I kept getting carried away!
This is the final piece I painted. Watercolor is definitely my strong suit. I'm pretty sure I'll do my MFA portfolio in all watercolor.

Summary of July
Woo! I've had a successful first month of this blog! I've had over a thousand page views which seems like a lot to a new blogger like me! And I'm enjoying this; keeping up with it really pushes me to create.
I have a feeling such frequent updates will be more difficult because school, RA, and work will all get in the way.

Here are some of my favorite (and color coded!) posts from this month.
P.S. I coded for the first time so each photo is a link!

Calliope Eggplant |
Last Friday (Mick Jagger's birthday) after running an errand for work I went to the Union Square Farmers Market. I typically don't buy things when I go but I love walking through the stalls smelling the lovely produce and taking in the amazing and overwhelming colors!![]() |

"Parsimony" |
I was bored in class one day and started totally zoning out. My professor said something was "parsimonious" and in my dazed stupor I wondered why he was talking about persimmons. That's when this goofy idea sprung up.

All of these were drawn in chalk pastels and ink.
P.S. Sorry for the bad photo quality. After trying to photograph them and edit the photos a million times this was the best I got.

Friday Work In Progress
Technically, this is a finished piece. But I have quite a few issues with this painting so it doesn't feel finished.
In my painting class we worked on still lifes. I couldn't resist the gorgeous colors of the cabbage and citrus so I chose this scene (we could choose fish, mushrooms, and this).

Daily Doodle
During lunch at my job it's far more interesting to doodle (in paint mainly) than to troll around on the internet (no offense buzzfeed).
I thought pomegranates and avocado sounded so beautiful today (more the colors than the taste).

Brighton Beach Fruit
Brighton Beach is one of my favorite places in the world (minus the crime rate and the trash). It's so colorful and the language is so exotic. It's like right after you hop off the Q Train you're in a different world. Lovely.
