Weird South America

South America was wonderful (as I'm sure you've now seen). But, as all different countries are it was BIZARRE! They had the funniest things that I just had to snap photos of. No  offense you lovely countries, but you have some funny things!

Perhaps I'll do a Weird US post too...I'm sure we have some ridiculous things I'm just totally used to.

I realize right now my blog is very SA-centric. Given that the places we went are so wonderful I have TONS I want to share; also, I have not had time to actually post my other artistic endeavors. Final paintings, projects, and photos are soon to come. AND some of the backlogged posts that I have been delinquent with. After graduation (EEK!) and moving back to Arizona (DOUBLE EEK!) I will be able to focus more on photographing my work to post.

Buenos Aires (Part II)

We ended our trip in Buenos Aires, again. We went to Plaza de Mayo (where a huge strike had just occurred). Politically and architecturally this city center was fascinating. We also went to the Lujan Zoo (on my bucket list). It was far more sad than I thought it would be. I left with very mixed feelings. 

Recap of April

April is always lovely because it is the beginning of true Spring in New York, the beginning of the end of school. This April has been exceptionally lovely because graduation is coming up (YES!), I was in South America, and then the not so lovely foot break. BUT here are the best moments from this month!

From our trip to Chile-- we were at this goofy restaurant that had a mini-garden in the back!

My "Wrong" assignment went extremely well. Seventeen creepy paintings and I want to keep going!

I had another show! It was quite nice and very simple.

Chile

After a 19 hour long bus ride we arrived in Santiago! When we were in Chile we were all over the place in a superspeed 48 hour adventure. We went to Isla Negra, Pablo Neruda's beach house, explored the city of Santiago, and went to a vineyard.

Chile was stunning. It was drastically different from Argentina (culturally, language, dogs). Santiago was not my cup of tea but the street art was amazing. And that vineyard and organic wine definitely made Chile even better.

Bariloche, Patagonia

South America has an amazing landscape that spans from the windy, cobblestone streets of Buenos Aires, to the amazingly, radiant Patagonia. We went to Bariloche (the northern most point of Patagonia) for 3 days. It was perfect. There is no way to capture the magic of this area but here are some of my favorite images.

Buenos Aires (Part I)

The past 10 days I have been in South America visiting my sister who is studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was an amazing trip. The landscape and culture are like nothing else.

My next few posts are going to be dedicated to this trip. I don't really know the best way to organize everything since I took over 700 photos! But I suppose I'll do it by each leg of the trip.

We started in Buenos Aires so these are my photos from that first bit. We went to the Cemetario Recoletta, La Boca, and Palermo Soho.
